I am a middle school librarian in Oklahoma and an Adjunct Professor of Comp I and II at a local college. I'm working on my PhD in English Education and plan to be Dr. Perry in May 2010. Thanks to Kittling Books, I found you….what a great blog area. I love the fireplace idea….we had the same problem, but opted to spend some $$ and put a wood burning stove insert in….now we heat almost the entire house on about 2 cords of wood/year.
Also…have you thought about one of those clip on reading lights for your reading? I use one even with a big lamp….I like the concentrated light it gives me. Maybe Santa could put one in your stocking?
